What is Gateball & How to Play it

What is it

Gateball is a team game, which has origins in Japan. Because the game is played on a much smaller court, it is much faster than Association Croquet, and is played between two teams of five players.

How to Play Gateball

Each player in the winning team must knock their ball through three hoops (gates) and finish by hitting the centre peg.

A game has a time limit of thirty minutes. The winning team is the one with the highest number of points.

The Playing Field and Equipment

The playing field and equipment differ from regular, Association (International) Croquet. The mallet is usually smaller, as is the court.
